MULTIDISCIPLINARY COLLABORATIVE FAMILY PRACTICE
Not all strained marriages need to end up in combative divorce proceedings. Children are the most vulnerable members in such situations. We have an experienced team providing a multi-disciplinary approach to managing marriage dissolutions, for the benefit of all family members and in particular on the overall well-being of children.
Let our team of professionals, including family lawyers, mediators, parenting coordinators, child representatives, and psychologists, assist you for a more amicable divorce with an approach focused on the current and future needs of children.
MEDIATION
Negotiate through disputes and issues relating to maintenance, division of matrimonial assets, and child-living arrangements, facilitated by a neutral and trained mediator.
Work with our specialists towards an amicable resolution to avoid litigation and incurring legal costs. We help mediate on issues of contention and save time and legal fees for all involved.
PARENTING COORDINATION
Children are inevitably the most vulnerable parties in any divorce proceeding. It is crucial that their needs continue to be addressed and their well-being safeguarded even after a marriage breaks down. This can be achieved through effective co-parenting.
Our Parenting Coordinator who has to be court-appointed can help address issues that arise so parenting plans and access arrangements can be implemented without couples having to resort to filing further applications in court and prolonging the acrimony.
SUPERVISED PARENTING TIME AND EXCHANGE
We provide supervised parenting time (access) and exchanges in court-ordered cases so children are given the opportunity to develop healthy relationships with each parent in a safe space.
Our mental health professionals are trained to assess and facilitate meetings (including the handover and return of children) between the child and their parent in situations where the child may be unwilling to meet. This guards against potential physical or emotional abuse and supports parents in working towards effective co-parenting in the longer term.
PARENTING
Parenting can be one of the most rewarding undertakings in life and can also be one of its most vexing. We have all encounted challenging parenting situations where we are at a loss as to hot to respond. This may lead to disagreements between parents and we may find ourselves confronted with significant behavioural issues in our children.
Our therapists can walk with you on your parenting journey and work with you to figure out what works best for your family. Work on specific parenting issues while getting emotional support for yourself during the process. Discuss with us whether individual, couple, family
sessions or a combination of them will be most effective for your family.
MARITAL / COUPLE COUNSELLING
Are there problems encountered as a couple that you are both unable to resolve? Do you both wish for better communication with each other?
Marital counselling by a qualified professional can help couples focus on and resolve conflicts in a supportive and non-judgemental space. Take an active step towards strengthening your relationship and improving your shared quality of life together.

CUSTODY EVALUATIONS / SPECIFIC ISSUES EVALUATIONS
We assist the courts in their decision-making process by providing professional, impartial, and nuanced assessments of the issues relating to the welfare of children involved in custody disputes. The professional evaluation report we conduct investigates welfare concerns and
provides the court with a socio-emotional/psychosocial perspective based on the best interests of the children.
This report considers the relationships of the children with their parents or significant others in their lives and would involve interviews and observations with those persons.
PSYCHO-EDUCATIONAL: LEARNING AND DEVELOPMENT
Quality Care

Educational psychologists are concerned with children's learning and development. They use their specialist skills in psychological and educational assessment techniques to help those having difficulties in learning, behaviour or social adjustment
ECPC offers comprehensive psycho-educational assessments for children and adolescents aged 3 – 16. These assessments are useful in identifying your child’s capacities in areas of functioning that relate closely to their school achievement. The assessments can be used to assess for school readiness, identify giftedness, learning differences, facilitate special education services, accommodations in the classroom, as well as for diagnosis (e.g., specific learning disorder, autism, ADHD).
Psychological assessment is not simply administering a test. There is no such thing as an ADHD test or dyslexia test. Accurate assessment and diagnosis require experience and expertise in triangulating evidence gathered from multiple sources. It involves differentiating and ruling out other potential causes that can result in symptoms that mimic these conditions.
A full learning assessment includes minimally a cognitive assessment (IQ test) and an academic skills assessment. The combination of these tests provides valuable information not revealed by any test on its own. Additional tests or questionnaires may be useful depending on the presenting issues, such as, social, emotional, attentional and behavioural challenges.
In addition, a good assessment should not only provide a better understanding of your child’s strengths and needs, but also answer the key question – what next?

Assessments:
Learning, academic and school readiness assessment
