Geraldine is a seasoned social service practitioner with two decades of experience working directly with children and their families in the education and social services sectors. With a background as an MOE-trained primary school teacher, she has supported students across a wide spectrum of abilities, ranging from those encountering challenges to the exceptionally gifted.
 
Her career includes a significant tenure of 13 years at a voluntary children’s home, where she held the role of Lead Social Worker. Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams comprising social service practitioners, education professionals, mental health experts, and corporate partners, Geraldine developed and implemented tailored programmes to foster the comprehensive growth of children and reinforce family ties.
 
In her capacity, Geraldine managed case files of children with child protection issues, establishing communication channels with diverse governmental bodies, community agencies, schools, and stakeholders. Responsibilities encompassed overseeing parenting schedules, conducting home visits, and handling intense conflict scenarios with finesse.
 
Apart from having played a pivotal role in vetting prospective foster parents on behalf of the Ministry of Social and Family Development (MSF) previously, Geraldine further contributed to the creation and review of custody evaluation reports for the Family Justice Court (FJC) and Syariah Court (SYC), aiding in the decision-making process related to family matters.
